RULES & REGULATIONS

To compete in the Miss District of Columbia’s  Teen competition, a contestant must fulfill the following requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• A TEEN must not be more than 18 years old at the FIRST DAY of the DC competition and must be at least 14 years of age. To clarify, the date of determining this age criterion remains the first day of the published DC competition schedule.
• Miss America HQ is reinstating the option for 18-year-old contestants to have a ‘pivot’ year to decide whether they would like to compete in the Teen or Miss divisions.
• Legal resident of the District of Columbia or attend a school in the District of Columbia. 
• Be able to meet academic requirements,
• Meet fundraising requirements to participate in local and national competitions.
• Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the program.
• Be prepared to abide by ALL rules and expectations outlined in your Miss America Teen contract.
• Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
• Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America’s Teen Organization.
• The winner of Miss District of Columbia’s Teen will compete for the title of Miss America’s Teen.
• The Miss District of Columbia’s Teen program is a non-profit organization and is supported by the kindness of sponsors. The winner may incur expenses for appropriate attire for appearances and the Miss America"s Teen Competition. All attire must be approved by the Miss District of Columbia's Teen leadership.
